Foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Astronautics, honorary doctor of the Moscow Aviation Institute
Born in 1937 in Shanghai, Prof. Dai graduated from the Dept. of Air Force Engineering, PLA Military Institute of Engineering and then served as a teacher there. From 1970, He taught in Northwestern Polytechnical University, and visited the University of Southern California for one year from October 1984. He once served as Dean of the Dept. of Automatic Control and Vice Principal of Northwestern Polytechnical University, and served as the Principal from November 1992 to April 2001. He once was a part-time member of the Science and Technology Committee of the PLA General Equipment Department, a member of the Discipline Review Team of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, the Vice Chairman of the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the executive member of the Chinese Society of Astronautics and the Chinese Association of Automation. He also takes positions overseas as a foreign academician in the Russian Academy of Astronautics, an honorary doctor in the Moscow Aviation Institute, etc.
